Candidate Requirements
Qualifications of Board Candidates
To qualify as a candidate, an individual must be:
- a registered voter in the Jim Ned Consolidated Independent School District.
- a resident in the Jim Ned Consolidated Independent School District for six (6) months and a resident
of the State of Texas for twelve (12) months prior to the filing deadline for election.
- 18 years of age (or older) on the first day of the term to be filled at the election.
- a person who meets all other requirements as provided by law stated in Texas Election Laws:
Election Code: Subchapter A: Eligibility Requirements for Public Office: Section 141.001; Texas
Education Code 11.066.

Election Information
Applications for a place on the ballot can be obtained at the Jim Ned CISD Administration Building
during normal business hours.

Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
Friday 7:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
All Jim Ned CISD Board of Trustee positions are at-large positions.
